Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Commission

President Bola Tinubu has directed the Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (FCCPC) to investigate Google, Meta, X (formerly Twitter), and major global technology companies, including Generative Artificial Intelligence platforms, over allegations of anti-competitive practices and unlawful exploitation of Nigerian media content.

The Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (FCCPC) has expressed concern over what it described as the failure of petroleum marketers to pass on the benefits of falling global crude oil prices to Nigerian consumers, warning that exploitative practices will attract regulatory action.
