Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, vice-presidential candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), has assured party members that the NDC will overcome its current legal challenges. He urged supporters to remain calm, resilient, and committed to the party’s ideals ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Kwankwaso gave the assurance on Sunday in a post on his official X account after visiting the party’s National Leader, Seriake Dickson, at his Abuja residence. He explained that the meeting was part of wider consultations aimed at boosting party cohesion, resilience, and strategic planning for the next election cycle.
“Today I paid a courtesy visit to our party’s National Leader, His Excellency Seriake Dickson, at his Abuja residence. The discussion is part of our continued push to strengthen NDC’s unity, resilience and strategic preparedness as we gear up for 2027,” he wrote.
Despite the legal battles surrounding the party’s registration, Kwankwaso stressed that the NDC remains anchored on democratic values and the rule of law. He expressed full trust in the judiciary to handle the matter fairly, saying: “As committed democrats, we stand firmly by the rule of law and have total faith in the judicial process. No short-term setback can dampen the spirit of a movement founded on hope, justice, fairness, and the shared hopes of Nigerians.”
He called on members, supporters, and citizens to remain steadfast and hopeful, insisting that the current crisis will only make the NDC stronger. “I urge all members, supporters and patriotic Nigerians to stay calm, determined and focused on our common goal. We will overcome every obstacle. Nigeria will be fine,” he added.
