Unidentified gunmen have abducted three students of the Federal University of Lafia (FULafia) from their off-campus hostel in Nasarawa State, with police successfully rescuing one of the victims.
The Nasarawa State Police Command confirmed the incident in a statement posted on X on Wednesday. According to the police, the students were kidnapped from their residence along Awe Road, near the university’s temporary campus in Akunza, Lafia.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has disclosed that it has received more than N500 billion for preparations towards the 2027 general elections.
INEC National Commissioner and Chairman of the Information and Voter Education Committee, Mohammed Haruna, revealed this during an interview on Arise Television News, noting that the amount represents more than half of the total budget approved for the conduct of the polls.
